List of important things to know before your first consultation.
Consultation Day
Please remove shoes before lying on the treatment table.
Wear clothes that are easy to access body parts or are easy to remove.
You do not need to take off all your clothes during the consultation, wait for the professional to inform you which region of the body he needs to access.
Consultation payment.
The clinic or any professional is prohibited by law from receiving gifts in any form.
Have a light meal or snack before treatment.
Time of consultation
The first session is longer due to gathering information. Lasts about 1h10m.
The sessions following the first one may have different durations depending on the technique used and the patient’s choice. It can be from 50m to 1h20m.
For example, if the patient needs more time to talk about their needs, they can choose to get 1 hour and 20 minutes of treatment. Knowing that in a treatment there is time for the interview, the analysis and the technique used.
The needles must remain in place for a while to have the expected effect. It can vary from 10-20 minutes or more depending on the energy imbalance.
Effects and Sensations
It depends on each person. Therefore, the number of consultations depends on the reaction of each patient. The patient may need 5-10 sessions or more. If you do not have ANY results after the 5th consultation, it is suggested to look for another treatment alternative.
Improvement or worsening of symptoms is usually felt from 24h – 48h – 1 week. That’s why you can do 1 to 2 sessions per week, depending on the case. The effect of acupuncture can be of short, medium, and long duration, it depends on the reaction of each person. In severe cases the treatment can be daily until the conditions change for exemple : daily migraines, severe anxiety etc…
Itching sensation – Numbness – Dizziness – Fatigue – Swelling – Heaviness – Cold or Heat – Diffusion or Electric shock – Muscle spasm may be felt during or after treatment.
It is recommended that you rest in the clinic for about 10-30 minutes if you feel dizzy or disoriented.
No body is the same as another. Accidents can happen like: *Puncture of a vein (sharp burning sensation). Hematoma duration: 1 to 4 weeks. The patient can massage the area. *Puncture of a peripheral nerve (very intense electric shock sensation). The patient should not require much effort at the site. Over time the pain will disappear. Pain duration: 1 to 4 weeks.

When is acupuncture not recommended?
If the person has a metal allergy, an infection and post-operative scars in the acupuncture area, a bleeding disorder such as hemophilia, or are taking a medication such as anticoagulants, a very high blood pressure (220/120), some cases of pregnancy (mainly habitual miscarriage), patients who suffer or are predisposed to suffer from psychosis or delusions, extremely nervous people and babies whose fontanelles have not closed. Patients with an automated implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD or AICD / ex: Pacemaker) should avoid any electromagnetic stimulation.
